How it works

Do you have what it takes to be a nanny with Hutson Nannies? First and foremost you must love kids and have a year paid experience working with them. We cannot accept experience working with your own children or family members. All nannies will go through an interview with the owner of Hutson Nannies, be background checked and have references checked.

We will work hard to find the perfect family fit for your unique skills and abilities. We will help you negotiate salary and navigate sticky situations once you are placed. If you are a busy person and cannot commit to a long-term job, we would also love to have you as one of our super special and in demand babysitters. Let’s get going!

Step one:

Fill out Hutson Nannies application thoroughly.

Step two:

Hutson Nannies contacts candidate to fill in any gaps in application and set up phone interview.

Step three:

Candidate is interviewed by Hutson Nannies president first by phone interview and then by in person interview to assess their qualifications, availability, personality and rates. Current CPR certification is verified at interview. Candidate may be tasked with completing certification at this time.

Step four:

Hutson Nannies calls all references of candidate. If reference checks are completed to the satisfaction of Hutson Nannies, process continues.

Step five:

Background screening is run. This will be a minimum of a SSN trace, county and federal criminal and sex offender database check. At the request of a potential family, the candidate may be required to submit to a drug test, check of DMV records, financial check, and education verification. If background check is satisfactory, the process continues.

Step six:

Candidate is accepted as Hutson Nannies nanny and is eligible to be placed immediately as a sitter or, when the perfect family and position are found, as a nanny.
